iPad At Home Instructions

For many of the families that came to Hoover to take iPads home during the COVID-19 school cancellation, we understand this is a new process. Below you will find a link to instructions on how to connect the iPad to your Wifi and go through the school filter at home. You must follow these steps in order for the iPad to work correctly.

Panera Dine Out – April 16th

Springtime means families are often busy with all those spring activities. Panera is here to help out with giving you an easy dinner choice with Dine Out on Thursday, April 16th from 4pm to 8pm. Kindergarten Enrollment

The kindergarten enrollment for Corvallis residents for the 2020-21 school year starts April 13. Kindergarten families must enroll at their neighborhood boundary school first. If you are interested in transferring to another school, the district transfer window is open from April 13 through May 1 and an online application will be available at that time.
All elementary schools will host a Kindergarten Open House at a date to be determined. Families interested in enrolling their student in Kindergarten at Franklin K-8 can learn more at their Open House that same evening, starting at 6:30 pm.

Hoover Auction Helpers Needed

Thanks to parents Lori Rinck and Vicki Farnsworth, the Hoover Auction planning is underway.

With the planning in place, the Auction Team now needs parent helpers who are willing to deliver donation request letters to local businesses and/or help with other small tasks.

If you can pitch in for these small tasks, please reach out to Lori at loririnck1@gmail.com.  All funds raised from the auction go to support enrichment activities at Hoover benefitting all students!

Hoover International Night Update

Hoover International Night will be on hiatus this year.  We will be forming a committee to reimagine and restructure this school-wide event.

We plan to expand the event, making it a joint school and HPTO event that celebrates the diversity of our school community.  We want to help our students and families see what they share as well as celebrate what is unique within each of us.

With these goals in mind, we will be forming a committee (made up of parents/guardians and staff) to plan the new event.  Our goal is for this new committee to meet in May and June, and then again in late August, to finalize plans for a Fall 2020 celebration.

The Green Team Needs You!

The Hoover PTO is working with the school to bring back the school sustainability club.  Known as the Green Team – the sustainability club will be made up of Hoover students and parents who are passionate about sustainable practices and taking care of the earth.

FRED MEYER Community Rewards

  1. If you already have a Fred Meyer reward card, you simply log into your account and link your existing card number to Hoover Elementary for rewards.
  2. If you don’t have a Fred Meyer reward card, fill out an application at Fred Meyer OR visit Fred Meyer Community Rewards (https://www.fredmeyer.com/topic/community-rewards-4)
  3. Create a free account and link your rewards account to Hoover Elementary School.
  4. Note: you will still get your normal reward points, fuel points, and rebates.

Hoover Closet Wish List

Our Hoover Closet holds clothing items that children can borrow when they get muddy, wet, or have spills/accidents at school.  Sometimes we find ourselves short on sizes/types of clothing and request donations of gently used items.

Currently our closet is in need of size medium girls pants (elastic waist athletic pants or leggings would be ideal).  Thank you, in advance, if you have items you can share.

Hoover Running Club (AHA Club) Kick Off

AHA Student Running Club is really going strong this year!  So far students have run over 1700 miles—that’s farther than running from here to Omaha, Nebraska!  Kids are still running through the winter.

Volunteering at Corvallis Schools – Including CHAPERONING FOR FIELD TRIPS

If you want to volunteer at a Corvallis School, including chaperoning for fieldtrips, please go to the Volunteer Home Access Page on the district website where you can set up your own account, get your volunteer clearance, and manage your information. https://www.csd509j.net/students-parents/volunteer/.  You will receive a confirmation email when your application is successfully processed (please note it takes a little bit longer at the beginning of the school year).  

Please note that volunteering includes attending field trips with your child’s classroom. This is especially important with the end of year celebration activities that are coming up!  You must have the background check in order to be able to attend these events.
