Hello and welcome to Hoover Elementary! We are a Kindergarten – 5th Grade Elementary School in Corvallis, Oregon. Please explore our website to find information about our school and the Corvallis School District.
Welcome to the 2019 – 2020 School Year at Hoover Elementary! We look forward to an amazing year of learning and fun with all of our families. This home page will be updated with new information weekly so check back often!
The HPTO Fun Run
The Fun Run is organized by your HPTO to raise funds to be used on behalf of our students. Friends and family sponsor a student to run/jog/walk as many laps around the gym as possible in a 15 minute period.
|Monday, October 7th||Fun Run Kick-Off! Students receive their Fun Run pledge sheets and start collecting pledges/sponsors for the laps they will run. Students do NOT turn this sheet in – keep it at home to use when you start collecting your pledges.
Attached to each student’s pledge sheet is a paper ribbon to decorate. Return decorated ribbons (labeled with name and room number) to classrooms by October 16th to be entered into the raffle prize drawing.
|Wednesday, October 16th||The Hoover Fun Run! Students run their laps today during their class’ scheduled time. Students will bring home a collection envelope with their name and the number of laps that they ran. Students will then use their pledge sheet to collect the funds from their sponsors, and place this money in their collection envelope.|
|Wednesday, November 6th||This is the deadline for returning collection envelopes even if they’re empty) to teachers or the school office. ALL envelopes received by the end of the day (including empty envelopes) will receive a fun prize. All money earned will count toward classroom competitions.
Note: if any donors want a tax receipt, please attach a note to the check/cash in the collection envelope. We will write the tax receipt and send it home with your student.
|Friday, November 8th||Fun Run Celebration! Raffle prize winner will be announced and all students will celebrate their efforts with an extra recess. The top three classes will enjoy a class party, as well.|
Let’s Talk About Student Success!
The Student Success Act marks a turning point for education in Oregon. When fully implemented, our state will see an additional $1 billion investment in schools each year. This investment will provide new opportunities for every student in our state, particularly students who have been historically underserved.
You have an important role to play. We (Corvallis School District) need your input to help develop a plan to best meet the needs of our students and our community.
SOCKtober is Here!
This year, the 2nd and 3rd grade classes are once again inviting you to join us in participating in “SOCKtober”.
Did you know that socks are the MOST needed but least donated article of clothing in shelters? We can help! During the month of October, we will show that even the smallest acts of kindness – like donating a pair of socks – can make a big difference to someone in need and make the world MORE AWESOME!
What do you need to do?
- Get NEW socks of any size. They can be socks for babies, kids, teens or adults.
- Bring those NEW socks to the school.
- Put those NEW socks in the laundry baskets in your child’s classroom or at the Hoover main entry!
- BAM! You just helped someone in our community!
The last day to donate socks will be Tuesday, October 29th.
