Fall 2018 Art Update

     Painting has been the primary focus for grades K-3 this fall. Primary students have been using line, shape, and color to paint cartoon birds and cityscapes inspired by the art of James Rizzi. While discussing color theory vocabulary, second and third grade students painted flowers inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe and Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Fourth grade students designed nonobjective compositions inspired by Wassily Kandinsky using watercolor pencil or cake tempera paint. Radial symmetry has been the primary focus for fifth grade students. The artwork is beautiful! I’m very proud of our Hoover artists!
