Hello and welcome to Hoover Elementary! We are a Kindergarten – 5th Grade Elementary School in Corvallis, Oregon. Please explore our website to find information about our school and the Corvallis School District.
Mark your calendars for this year’s Annual CARNIVAL & AUCTION: Friday, May 31st, 2019.
Friday, May 31st, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., is our annual Hoover Carnival and Auction. This fantastic event is full of family fun as well as being the HPTO’s largest fundraiser of the year. Please mark your calendar to come support our school at this great event.
Pre-order forms for the game bracelets went home earlier this week (bright red paper!). Forms can be turned in to the school office. A carnival bracelet flier is attached to this email.
More volunteers are always needed to help with the carnival! If you want to volunteer, know a teenager needing volunteer hours, or know of community groups interested in volunteering, please contact Rich at 541-250-9034 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Donations are also needed for the Carnival Cup Cake Walk. We are asking parents to create or purchase delicious desserts to give away at the Cup Cake Walk. You may drop off your dessert at the school lobby on the day of the carnival. Please do NOT bring desserts that contain nuts. Also, we ask that the desserts be packaged ‘small’. Just one or two cupcakes per package, no more than 6 cookies per package, etc. This will allow more students a chance to win!
Students are also busy selling raffle tickets as part of the auction event. The raffle has some SUPER prizes that can be won including Disneyland Day Hopper Passes as well as a Great Wolf Lodge package. Extra tickets are available in the school office if you are needing more!
$60 Disneyland passes, HALF PRICE dining at del Alma, Block 15, Bellhop and Gathering Together…these are just a few of the BUY NOW deals available in the ONLINE HPTO auction that opens THIS MONDAY, May 20th, at 6am.
Early bird gets the worm! https://www.32auctions.com/hoover to register for your auction bid number (good in the online auction as well as the silent auction the night of the carnival).

HPTO Field Day is June 13th
Field Day is a month away (Thursday, June 13th) and planning is underway!
Field Day is a tradition at Hoover, as one of the final activities of the school year. It is an afternoon when all Hoover students get to do a wide variety of activities on the playgrounds and in the gym, such as sack races, a life-sized board game, tug of war, beach ball volleyball, splash ball toss, and many others.
All of the Field Day events are entirely staffed by volunteers–parents and grandparents and even younger siblings helping out their parent with running an event. We will need almost 50 volunteers on Thursday, June 13, from 12:30 – 2:30 to make this fun day happen for all of our students!
Please follow this link to sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A4CACAD2CA3F58-hoover8
As with all volunteer activities at Hoover, you must have completed a criminal history background check; so if you haven’t done it yet, please take a moment to do that today by following this link: https://www.csd509j.net/students-parents/volunteer/
Any questions, you can email me at email@example.com or text 541-223-2290. Thank you so much for considering this final volunteer opportunity for the school year!

AHA Student Running Club Update
Kudos to our Hoover athletes who have been logging miles during Tuesday and Thursday morning recess! The school has made it 615 miles so far!
With the weather warming up, it’s a great time to come volunteer to help—we need you to keep this going. Big thanks to all who have helped so far!
Here is the link to volunteer: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A4CACAD2CA3F58-aha
Every kid who finishes a marathon (26.2 miles) will earn a Hoover running club t-shirt (the t-shirt will be rewarded when they turn in their 30 mile card). Look for more challenges and incentives coming soon!
